2019 ARGO MILE

Come find out how fast you can run a mile around the track!!!

Time: 11am

Place: University of West Florida Track, (AKA UWF Soccer Complex, 910 Campus Dr, Pensacola, FL 32514)

Parking: Parking Lot SP2
(Entering from Hwy 90 entrance, it would be the first left when you enter campus)
(Entering from University Pkwy entrance, make a right at the light, proceed through the light at campus lane, head up the hill and it will be on your right)

Registration: $5.00 per runner, online registration to close the Wednesday night before the race (April 10 at 11:59pm)

Everyone who enters must put a predicted time down (this will assign you to a heat with similar runners so the races are more competitive and safer)

About the Argonaut Mile: The mile race is for anyone 7 and up. We will have a “Little Mile” for kids 6 and under. The little mile will be the first event on the track and will consists of a lap around the track. Runners will receive a medal for finishing. Little Mile participants will not need to register but will need to sign the waiver on race day.

We will have multiple heats depending upon the amount signed up to run. Plan to have no more than 25 runners in each heat and each heat will be based on the predicted time when registering.

We expect the races to conclude around noon and we invite all runners to participate in the Argo’s Day of Play, which will be in the same general area up towards the baseball/softball fields. There will be bounce houses, laser tag, games, vendors, and everyone will get in free to the baseball and softball games at 1pm.

Awards/Medals: All runners in the Argo Mile will receive a finisher’s medal.
Top ten male and top ten female will win prizes (gift cards, UWF swag, etc.)

Race Day Schedule of Events:

April 13th, 2019, 10am-Late Registration

10:30am-End Late Registration

11am- Start the only heat of the “Little Mile”

Rolling Schedule- Heat 1 (fastest heat) Heat 2 (next fastest heat), Heat 3 and so on

Awards-Noon

Noon-4pm-Argo’s Day of Play events

1pm- UWF Baseball and Softball Games Begin
